Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how GoHooper, LLC ("LinkGenie", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on LinkGenie.com, the LinkGenie app at linkgenie.net and LinkGenie pages. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device through your browser. They let the site recognise your browser, remember information about your visit and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies include pixels (tags), local storage and scripts. We call all of these "cookies" in this policy.
2. Cookies we use
| Type | What it does | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary / session | Keep you signed in, keep your session secure, and make core features such as checkout work. The Service cannot work properly without them. | App session cookie, security and load-balancing cookies |
| Preference | Remember your choices, such as language, and whether you have accepted our policies. | Language, policy-acceptance cookies |
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, using aggregated statistics. | Google Analytics (including Demographics and Interests reporting), Meta (Facebook) analytics |
| Advertising / remarketing | Let us and our partners show you LinkGenie ads on other sites based on your previous visits, and measure ad performance. | Google Ads remarketing and Google/DoubleClick cookies, Meta (Facebook) pixel |
Page owners on paid plans can add their own tracking pixels (for example Meta, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, LinkedIn, Pinterest, X, Quora, TikTok or Snapchat) to their LinkGenie page. Those cookies are set on behalf of the page owner and governed by their and the provider's policies.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are placed by third parties such as Google and Meta when you visit our site. These providers may use the information to provide measurement services and to target ads. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services and in Meta's Cookie Policy.
4. How to control cookies
- Browser settings: you can set your browser to warn you each time a cookie is sent, or to block or delete cookies. Each browser is different, so check its Help menu. If you turn cookies off, some features (such as staying signed in) may not work.
- Analytics: install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
- Advertising: adjust Google Ad Settings and your Meta ad preferences, or opt out through the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), YourAdChoices (Canada) or Your Online Choices (EU).
- Do Not Track: we honor Do Not Track (DNT) browser signals. When your browser sends one, we do not set advertising or tracking cookies on our marketing site.
- Consent banner: where the law requires consent (for example in the EEA and UK), we ask before setting non-essential cookies and you can change your choice at any time.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our use of cookies changes. The "Last updated" date shows when it was last revised.
